Out of a desire to appease or deflect criticism from the church too and Black Lives Matter movements, some SBC leaders have compromised their positions. Additionally, they have a fear of female leadership within the denomination, driven by the massive followings these women have gained through Lifeway. They send these women on cruises, which isn’t a good steward of their money.

I am so over pastors apologizing for the word of God. God’s word is meant to be convicting—the “double-edged sword”

This was really bad, I mean seriously bad enough that Ed Litton took all his sermons down, but some people were able to get clips of what he said. I can’t believe he didn’t immediately step down over the plagiarism alone. Compromising on God’s word is serious especially given the culture rot we see in today’s world.

@calvingelical Sadly, this is true, but what’s even sadder is that the Seminaries associated with the SBC are falling away too. I know because I went to one.

The issue is not plagiarism I t’s that two men are leading people astray. The only way to heaven is by accepting Jesus, not by refraining from sin. But if someone claims to be saved and they do not repent because they think it’s a minor sin or not a sin, they are not saved.

Actually it’s a lot of things going on. Their sermons on Romans and the knowledge that Litton plagiarized with Greear’s permission.

I died from cringe.

It is cringe and should have been dealt with by the SBC. Instead they turned a blind eye to it.

A Bible lesson would be nice A lesson on scripture and not a story about idols

On the one hand I agree with them as there many sins identified as abominations, yet I've come to understand the gay movement is not so much about being gay, it's a false religion that is the tip of the spear which is driving the apostasy of the Church in the last days.

These defects are what erode churches and have them become weak. Politically correct, woke sermons, seeking the approval of men, rather than being faithful to God, do not get it done.

With all the sermons about homosexuality you either get two things Death by 1k qualifications or shaming congregants who dare believe in the severity of homosexual sin.

What is that clown suit he is wearing? I could never sit and listen to someone dressed like that. Most mega church preachers are far from normal!
