In November, I introduced the Halo Act to institute buffer zones around federal law enforcement officers to keep everyone safe. Today, as assaults against ICE are up 1,300% and death threats up 8,000%, I called on my colleagues to support my Halo Act to protect our federal law enforcement officers from harassment, obstruction and violence. Law enforcement should be able to do their jobs without being targets—these attacks MUST END.

This would give Portland leaders the power to direct Portland Police to document when ICE detains people, and take legal action including looking up information on the federal agents.
