A little roller up along first… Behind the baaag! It gets through Buckner! Here comes Knight, and the Mets win it!

What a little baby I am… That tears me up every time I see it… What a wordsmith.. He was one of a kind… And yes he was everyone’s best friend… IRREPLACEABLE

The man exuded class, grace, and dignity.

Even as a diehard A’s fan I loved this man. He embodied everything I love about the sport. So kind, knowledgeable, and most of all a true fan of the game. He represented the best of us… I sure miss him a lot 🥹

Not only the greatest sportscaster ever, he was a living link between me and my grandparents, Brooklyn fans and LA season ticket holders, long after they were gone. When I listened to Vin call Dodger games on my transistor radio up until he retired, so were they, in heaven.

I recall all the Dodger game I went to, how fans brought their radios to the games, just to hear him call the plays. Other teams fans made fun of us saying “they’re so dumb, they need the radio to understand what’s going happening.” Simply the best.

Awesome

@muddypistol Sad moment to see but he deserved to go out with grace & dignity & style & he did just that !

♥

The best.
