A little roller up along first… Behind the baaag! It gets through Buckner! Here comes Knight, and the Mets win it!

What a little baby I am… That tears me up every time I see it… What a wordsmith.. He was one of a kind… And yes he was everyone’s best friend… IRREPLACEABLE

The man exuded class, grace, and dignity.

Even as a diehard A’s fan I loved this man. He embodied everything I love about the sport. So kind, knowledgeable, and most of all a true fan of the game. He represented the best of us… I sure miss him a lot 🄹

Not only the greatest sportscaster ever, he was a living link between me and my grandparents, Brooklyn fans and LA season ticket holders, long after they were gone. When I listened to Vin call Dodger games on my transistor radio up until he retired, so were they, in heaven.

I recall all the Dodger game I went to, how fans brought their radios to the games, just to hear him call the plays. Other teams fans made fun of us saying ā€œthey’re so dumb, they need the radio to understand what’s going happening.ā€ Simply the best.
