@AfDB_Group I don't believe development if it's financed through a the time you're done with the loan the system needs an upgrade look at the eskom debacle,look at thr zim border issue .Africa has debt that will affect our grandkids and for me that's not progress.

@AfDB_Group Here in South Africa we have people who dug up street light cables to sell to scrapyard. Thina our development is being hindered by scrupulous scrapyard operators who buy stolen goods and sell them overseas.

Ahead of the African Development Bank Annual Meetings, I explored the transformative Abidjan Urban Transport Project — the largest of its kind in Côte d’Ivoire. Co-financed by the African Development Bank Group and JICA, this €567.7M investment has delivered 88 km of expressways, 89 renovated intersections, and a new bridge that cuts travel time between Yopougon and Plateau from 3 hours to just 10 minutes. Througg the project , over 10,000 youth, farmers, and fishers are now engaged in skills training and employment support, benefiting from safer roads, improved mobility, and reduced emissions — 904,000 tonnes of CO₂ avoided annually. We also visited Ayewahi City, where some of the families displaced by the infrastructure works have been resettled. In total, 421 new housing units have been built across several locations to ensure no one is left behind in the march toward modernisation. This project is a compelling example of inclusive infrastructure development — one that not only connects people but also preserves dignity and social cohesion. #AfDBAM2025 #Abidjan
