We’re maximising the efficiency with which we move patients through the pathways, so they get their treatment as fast as possible without undue delay.” 📣 ”We started off with 12 patients an hour. And now we’ve got people doing 45 patients, which is more than ever. The most important thing for us now is - we actually know how many true waiters we have. We didn’t know that before.” Great to hear such positive feedback from NHS staff on the ground at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

In a Westminster Hall debate today, I once again raised my huge concerns about Palantir’s contract running the Federated Data Platform for the NHS. A company that aides Israeli war crimes, mines American citizens’ health data to support ICE raids, and advocates NHS privatisation should be nowhere near our data. The Government must end its deal with Palantir in 2027. #NoPalantirInTheNHS #SayNoToPalantir

The NHS’s Federated Data Platform (FDP) - which is powered by Palantir - can feel complicated. But if you want a simple explanation of how it is transforming the lives of clinicians and patients, I’d urge you to watch this short video from NHS England. NHS trusts across England use the FDP to pull together data from different IT systems. This helps to improve patient care, while cutting the administrative work for NHS staff. Each year, more than two million people in England navigate the difficult journey of cancer diagnosis, testing and treatment. That’s why we’ve introduced the Cancer 360 tool, built on the #FDP, to speed up this process. It cuts down paper work, tracks progress, prevents delays and helps to create personalised treatment plans - so nothing important gets missed. Without this system, #NHS staff are stuck pulling together information from multiple systems, spreadsheets and emails - taking up valuable time that could be spent on patient care. We are incredibly proud of the difference this software is making to the NHS and are incredibly excited about what’s coming next. $PLTR #PLTR

"It's like they're literally saying: we hate the NHS as a public service." Green party leader Zack Polanski delivered a letter to data surveillance company Palantir on Thursday to put them "on notice" that he will fight the renewal of their contract with the NHS. And on Novara Live, Dalia Gebrial describes the influence of Palantir as "privatisation by the backdoor" that will lead to our data being used against us to deny our freedoms.

"We were brought in based on the experience that we had and the credibility that we built on the military side to then come and help tackle the pandemic". "Off the back of that they they commissioned us for two years to to continue that work we've been doing during COVID". "What we also started doing in parallel, which is what led to the federated data platform, was to begin working with some of the individual trusts and the challenge that they had, what they called the elective backlog". The word federated might sound like jargon, but it’s the key - it means every NHS hospital has its own instance of #palantir software. Each individual hospital is in complete control - the hospital decides how the software is used and how to manage the information the hospital holds. #NHS hospitals use Palantir to bring together information from their many different IT systems, so their staff can make better informed decisions about patient care. Because they are using the same kind of software, it’s also secure and simple for them to share information with other hospitals. That might be to get an individual patient treated sooner. Or it might be to support preventative care by enabling an Integrated Care Board to better understand of health trends across a local area. Activists from Pull the Plug delivered 60 cardboard boxes of ‘NHS data’ to Palantir HQ. The government awarded US spy-tech firm Palantir an NHS contract worth £330m in 2023, despite widespread concerns about the company’s ties to Israel, ICE and the Trump administration. Posing as DHL delivery drivers in high-vis jackets, the activists told Palantir that they’d come to deliver “60 million UK citizens’ worth of medical data” – and that staff would have to sign for the order. “I mean, we cant just leave it on the pavement, can we? All that confidential data.”

Pleased to see NHS England Board asked publicly about implementing the Supreme Court ruling—only for Duncan Barton’s response to drift past legal accuracy unchallenged. A masterclass in performative listening & delay tactics ▫️NHS England continues to “assess” whether its policies align with the ruling, despite repeated indications from staff and others that they do not. This lack of alignment has been confirmed by the Supreme Court and multiple tribunals ▫️Wes Streeting, NHS England does not need to wait for EHRC guidance to comply with the law. The Supreme Court has already clarified the legal position, and NHS England should update its policies accordingly and provide reassurance to its workforce. This senior NHS employee will know the EHRC have told services they are responsible for ensuring compliance NOW❕but is pretending otherwise to the board, staff and the general public. This disingenuous behaviour degrades trust and respect for the NHS Sex, the 1️⃣ protected characteristic which has been so poorly served by Board Executives across the NHS should finally be considered as equal. We look forward to NHS England inviting us to contribute to the EHRC implementation planning

Wrigley exposed how Palantir has been aggressively lobbying politicians with an impractical vision of an all-controlling data platform. Rather than locking our health service into flawed corporate software, Wrigley points to models like Greater Manchester that successfully integrated patient systems without compromising public trust or technical sovereignty.
