This scam is fake. It's also pretty dumb if you realize how gas pumps reset. Many out there do have these screws put in, but is is by the owners of the station as a cheap fix to a bad flapper.

In order to keep gas off me, I push the shut-off plate up then squeeze the handle and shake, (guys know this move) then this way when I remove the nozzle no gas comes splashing out on me.
