Have you listened to the podcast about John’s life & ministry? Newsom has been at MacArthur since the beginning. I will continue praying for Gavin’s salvation.. the man is a tortured, lost soul at best.

Clearly Newsom does not believe in the authority of Scripture. His position and reactions obviously convey that he thinks he knows better than the Bible.

In honor of John Piper’s 80th birthday yesterday… My husband and I were in the room during this exchange between Piper and MacArthur several years ago. It has always stood out clearly in our memory, so I was quite amused when Piper brought it up a few months ago at MacArthur’s memorial service. The question asked was how each man handled discouragement in ministry, and MacArthur had answered first, saying it really hadn’t been much of an obstacle for him because there was always so much that had to be done that he didn’t have time to spend on discouragement.
