Dear pastors(who still impose fear on the sheep), even though Jesus endorsed tithing, he didn't overflog it. Luke 11:42 [42] “What sorrow awaits you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things. The gospel isn't about imposition of fear. The gospel is about love. Tithing isn't the covenant. Jesus is our new covenant. He is the perfect example of tithing. God gave Jesus, the most cherished as a sacrifice. That giving restored the world to God. John 3:16 is a summary of how God tithed. Tithing is a significance of love. God didn't threaten the Israelites or the Levites. No. He asked them to test him. It's like a father who has 10 candies in his pocket and he asks his toddler to give him the one he's holding. When the toddler gives the father the candy, the father in return surprises the child and offloads all the hidden candies in his pockets and also prevents others from coming to steal the candies from the child. That is the story of Malachi 3:10. It's not about compulsion or force. God can't force you to give him what he already has. It would be an insult to his magnanimity to threaten someone. He tests you. Why? He's looking for people that he can commit kingdom wealth to. So, anyone who is free with his resources to God receives abundantly from God. Jesus said, "Give and it'll come back to you in great measures. Even when they're pressed down and shaken together, it'll overflow". God is a God of Abundance not a God of beggy beggy. Stop insulting God with all these tithe sermons. I understand that the gospel needs funding. But, does that mean that God is limited as to how to raise funds for his Kingdom? Is God, the creator of the universe and the owner of all things in heaven, on earth and in all realms, so limited that he'll limit himself to just tithes and offerings? No!!!. Enough of bringing shame to God and to the body of Christ. Tithing isn't the center of the gospel. Jesus is. You are not the one to convince the people to tithe. It's the job of the Holy Spirit. No one convinced Abraham to tithe. It was a divine inspiration. Jesus said, "if these people don't praise me, I'll raise up stones in their places". You can't present God as a God of Abundance and limit his abundance to being just as a result of tithing. That's not the gospel. Thank you.

Most church can't exist without tithe. I am always happy everyday because I emancipated myself early enough from religious fanstism.
