Today I vibe-coded a small but incredibly useful macOS Electron app using Cursor + GPT-5.5. I use my Mac with a Samsung monitor that has a built-in webcam. Every time I used the camera, I noticed annoying light flickering. I always assumed it was my lighting. It turns out the culprit was the anti-flicker setting. The webcam was set to 60 Hz by default, while India's power frequency is 50 Hz. That mismatch causes visible flickering under indoor lighting. Samsung doesn't provide any way to change this on the monitor, and macOS doesn't have a built-in control for it either. So I asked Cursor to build a simple camera control app that lets me change the webcam's hardware settings, including the anti-flicker mode, along with zoom, brightness, contrast, and more. About 30 minutes and a few rounds of refinement later, I had a fully working Electron app. A tiny app, but it solved something that had been annoying me for months.

A little bit more on my Novel editor. One of the things I loath about word processors is that they are so unaware of how prose is structured. They treat the line as the most atomic unit of text. But writers think in words, sentences, and paragraphs. Never lines. The editor I am working on has navigation tools for word, sentence, paragraph, and scene. You can navigate and move content at each level. All from the keyboard with some intuitive hotkeys. A pointing device like trackpad or mouse engages the part of your brain that processes spatial input. That's not where you want to be when writing. It can take you out of your flow state. And it is physically quite slow because your hands must move away from the keyboard. So I'm rethinking editing with the keyboard. It's not hard to learn, and it makes editing faster. I haven't been using it long and already I'm barely reaching for the trackpad. Follow me to be the first to try this out. #WritingCommunity

VERY COOL!! Thanks jordan for the tip, I can now test my iOS app on web I asked Claude Code to set up serve-sim, a web-based iOS simulator that can stream the iOS app my Claude Code on VPS built live to me, because it's on some Mac Mini in the cloud without even a GUI (it's headless) I cannot actually try it on the Mac itself! Before Claude would make me a page with screenshots but I had no idea how the app felt, now with this it works This is hosted on the Mac Mini via SSH (it shows localhost but it's a tunnel via SSH to the Mac Mini), bit laggy but nice!

Clicky is an amazing tool so I forked it and added "proactive tutor mode": It watches your screen and teaches you *without you asking anything*. Every time you stop using your keyboard or your cursor, it gives you instructions/feedback. Watch it teach me Figma in real time. Two additional changes in my fork: - auto copy the llm response to clipboard, when it helps you with writing (it helped me write this tweet) - it only takes a screenshot of the window you are focused on, reducing llm confusion

Then connected it to my Mac throuh SSH Now it runs Claude Code, Codex, and Hermes on the go 0 browser. 0 social media. 0 distractions. Can work on all my projects on this cool little device that nobody knows what it is Anywhere I am I can pull out my cyberdeck and vibe code or give commands to my agents I’m really in love with minimalistic devices that allow you to do cool futuristic things with 0 distractions. Was an awesome weekend project. Highly recommend everyone tries building their own cyberdeck Just take any devices you have, connect them to a computer with Claude code, and ask how you can install your own custom software on there to do whatever you want I bet you can turn a lot of older devices you already have into a cyberdeck

How I have Claude automate anything I do on my computer just by showing it: I use the free Clips app and hit record to start recording. Then I just do the action - like navigating to Rippling and approving any unapproved time off - and I’ll often just talk out loud as I do it explaining any add’l details like I would when showing a human. The Clips app captures everything on your screen and everything you say, and transforms it into a format Claude can “see and hear”. You'll then get a link that you can easily share with Claude (or humans too). I’ll paste it to Claude and say something like, "automate this for me every day at 8:00 AM." The link has special metadata that agents like Claude can discover. It exposes APIs to see the full transcript with timestamps and grab screenshots of what was on your screen at any of those timestamps. Once it's created the routine, you can go to the Routines tab in Claude Code desktop app. This also works with the CLI, Claude Cowork, Codex etc. You’ll see your new routine there, and you can just hit Run Now to have it start running it. Video attached shows this step by step. The Clips apps is free and open source - I’ll link to it and the source code in the thread.

ok ya'll convinced me. i'm that guy sitting here in coach on southwest with a giant monitor in front of me, watching a movie overhead. i love this. Observations - nice to be able to use my MacBook keyboard with the display mostly closed, with drinks on my tray table. feels less crowded. - nice to have this "private" screen. no one peeking over my shoulder. - mirrored display looks a LOT bigger in actual use than in this video. it's a big laggy. - the "old" airpods pro work just fine - disney DRM blocks the movie from this screen recording - i let the vision update to visionOS 1.0.2 last night and my battery was down to 50% this morning! :( - i paid for wifi for my MacBook, but the vision can't share it unless I pay for a second device. wish it could! but since i'm mirroring, it's not a big deal - my seat mate said "that's cool". no one else has said anything or appeared to notice.

Whenever I travel, I build a custom app that feeds in all my friends’ recommendations for restaurants, coffee shops, and things to do. I can literally just upload a screenshot of their recs, and it will plot all of them on an interactive map. It can also bookmark places, create an itinerary, see opening hours, etc. Takes about 5 minutes to do with Claude Code. By far my favorite use case for AI. This was the one I created for Copenhagen:

afaik i'm the only one with an actually smart TV here's a demo of full computer use with just a remote, sitting on a couch. i can even get work done while chasing a toddler lmao reply below if you want to be a beta tester & i'll send you the download (mac only) - everything runs locally, no cloud AI. uses 4gb of gpu memory - mic is on the remote, so you can whisper into it, or use in crowded/loud environments - transcribes text directly or runs keyboard shortcuts / applescript if it sounds like an action command "i.e. close this page" - 600ms response time on my m3 max (transcription + LLM tool calls) - continuous transcription previews available. can be auto-turned off on battery to conserve battery - no apple tv remote required, you can also use your phone as the remote (screenshot below) even for direct transcription, it's quite a different experience than regular transcription software because you don't need to be close to your computer mic or your keyboard. you can be pacing around, which i love doing when writing long prompts also... the apple siri remote is a beautiful piece of hardware and has apple-quality trackpad. it's kind of a must for a good remote
