If it's to help black people because black people come from poorer areas and not just because they are black, then why isn't the qualifier socioeconomic status? I knew an US woman, a teacher in an under privileged area. Very committed but then she left to work in China, teaching children of very rich parents. They had the best tuition, spoke English perfectly and were prep'd for US college entrance exams highly professionally. These foreign, rich Chinese students, seen as "Asian" by the top US colleges would compete for a limited number of places for "Asians" against US asian-americans from state schools

Are the underfunded schools she talks about that the blacks go to 100% black? No. So there are also white kids that go to the underfunded schools. These white kids don't get preferential treatment with regards to college admissions, so this is a black privilege.
