idk who needs to hear this and see this but this morning, a mourning dove paid me a visit ive never seen one of these so its not common for me and it was holding a branch whatever storm you are in, God wants you to know its over Noah watched a Dove return to the Ark with an olive branch— this was God telling Noah that nearby the flood waters have receded and life was once again flourishing your flood has ended, and a new bloom is beginning 🩷

The flood sirens have gone off in the Upper Valley this afternoon due to a combination of heavy rain and snow melt. I have spoken to the Environment Agency and Calderdale Council. Current predictions suggest it is likely to get worse until about 3:30 – 4:00pm and then ease. This is being monitored and I'll update as the day progresses. There is surface water flooding on Halifax Road at Eastwood where a crew are working to unblock drains, surface water flooding at Callis where the road is closed, and a flood warning in Walsden. Other areas including Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd, and Todmorden are under flood alerts and teams are out clearing drains. Please avoid travelling to these areas. Residents should put up flood defences if possible. You can get flooding updates on or the Environment Agency website. Flood wardens also update on a number of local Facebook pages including Todmorden Flood Group and Hebden Bridge Flood Action Group. We are at the frontline of climate shocks here in Calder Valley. Rest assured I will continue to raise the issues we face with flooding at the highest levels of government.

Mayor Vico and his team visited the project site in 2022 to see the state of the watershed and the work being done to address deforestation. According to studies by the WorldBank and flood modeling by the Manila Observatory, a reforested Upper Marikina Watershed will help decrease the flood extent and flood volume in Pasig and Marikina City, should another Typhoon Ondoy happen. The group also planted native Katmon trees as a reminder of their visit and a symbol of their commitment to conservation in the uplands. I am aghast that a functionary of the executive like the CBI director is appointed with the participation of Chief Justice of India. Is this happening elsewhere in the world? Can it happen under our constitutional scheme? Why should an appointment of the executive be made by anyone else other than the executive? The CBI director is not the senior most person in the hierarchy. He has above him the CVC, Cabinet Secretary, all Secretaries. After all, he's heading a department.
