Where you go to school does not matter.

This is not entirely true. Your social network absolutely influences your success in life. Now, it is true that just because you go to a prestigious school doesn't mean you will capitalize on the network effects.

The point of “elite” universities is to take all the people with elite abilities and put them in one spot for a few years so they cross-pollinate. This is *how* 90% of Fortune 500 companies got founded…and then they hired a competent state school guy to be CEO. Elite people should do elite things🤷♂️

Uhhhhhh this just isn’t true, okay some CEOs went to state schools. But companies literally recruit people out of the “elite” schools.

Yeah, but what color you are matters. Especially if you want an SBA loan.

You're talking about founders, and maybe that's what the entire video was about, but the clip makes it sound like you're talking in general, and for the average graduate that's just not true. Harvard graduates earn $96,800 per year after graduation. After ten years, graduates earn $136,700 on average. University of Michigan graduates earn $56,200 per year. After ten years, graduates earn $74,400 on average. If we adjust for specific careers (to factor out things like there are more law students at Harvard) Computer Science at Harvard has a median starting salary of $128,900. Computer and Information Sciences at University of Michigan has a median starting salary of $86,900. That's a 50% difference.

BYU mattered a great deal to me. Any other place and my life would be drastically different. Yes, it matters.

Partially disagree. In my first job in public accounting, I saw a lot of favoritism to people who went to the D1 schools in my state. I work at a small firm, and that kind of stuff doesn't seem to matter now.

I didn’t go to school. Still reached financial freedom

Yes if you're a history major. But no if you are going to medical school.

And you learn the exact same stuff! It's not like the textbooks or professors are telling the students secret information at elite universities.

The elite Ivy League+ students found the unicorn company then hire a 9 to 5 state school bean counter to run it while they enjoy the equity. @grok can you list the fortune 100 founders and the university they attended

This is the most ignorant thing I've ever heard.

@grok what is the average salary of top 5 MBA schools v the rest?

It’s the people you meet

state-mandated education insures students for public schools Private ones have a cost

If you're dead set on a college degree: • 2 years at the local community college living in Mom's basement • Transfer credits to state University (in state); get your bachelor's Save the elite schools for post-grad work if you must.

And just about none of the top general officers in all four services are ring-knockers.

🧾🇺🇸💯🔥

I assure you it's about networking and while it doesn't mean you will found a company it increases your odds of getting a position in a top company

Guessing those Vandy employees are really loving watching you spout this. Boomer prick.

What about the graduates of these elite schools only hiring people from elite schools?

Where you worship God does not matter. You can go to a church and help the pastor get a new mansion or pray at home for free.

What about community colleges?

This is 100% incorrect unless you’re an entrepreneur

You're kind of stupid, huh?

Tell that to people who don’t go to school
