I am so tired of the way the government talk about school attendance. They have no idea what it is like to be that child terrified of school, standing at the school gates unable to breathe because they’re so anxious. Who forces themselves into school day after day until they can’t anymore. Who is traumatised by the environment - the noise, the expectations, peers, anxiety. We HAVE to reframe the idea that school is the only way to get an education. Of course education is important. But the fear, anxiety and trauma school can cause for some of us is HUGE. To turn a community and a region on it's ear has been a dream of mine and we've done that and we've done it at the highest level and we've gotten to this point a couple times now. What the value is, I don't know, but I know the timing of it's really great. We've been drug through the mud... All I know is Beaver Nation is awesome and Oregon State is an incredible university... And we can compete with anyone from there... It's been a joy of mine to put smiles on people's faces, especially this year."

🧸 at school, you had your friends…you got to play football during lunch time…that’s why i actually really liked going to school, it was really fun to me 🧸 3 years is a bit much but if you tell me to go back to middle school for a year…i think i could do it again but (in this scenario) the after school academy needs to not be there 🙅 i would just go to school and i need to be able to play after school 🧸 if that’s the case, i would really diligently go to school…in that case, i could even go for 3 years 🧸 my friends from back then need to be the same too
