Old math always allowed me to do the math in my head. Super easy.

This does show the power of mathematics, but it also shows the ability for humans to overthink the process.

NEW METHOD??? 😂😂🤣 This is just Lattice Multiplication. It originated in China around the 9th century during the Tang Dynasty.

New math is designed not to make math easier for those who struggle but to make it harder for those who excel. They designed a “new method” for doing math (because nobody thought of that before) and simultaneously lowered the standard. Voila, new math works, except it doesn’t.

Normalize Memorizing Facts and Content Sometimes your mind might be the only tool you have. Multiplication tables are a great start

This is ridiculous, the old way is so much more efficient and way less confusing. Why try to re-invent the wheel? Explains why kids are failing in math by the truckload. 🤦‍♂️ @whitenoizzz
