This is sad to watch and hear. Tribalism is a cancer that South Africa’s leadership must confront and put an end to before it spirals out of control. History has shown the devastating consequences of allowing ethnic hatred to take root. In Rwanda in 1994, close to a million people were killed, primarily because they belonged to the Tutsi ethnic group, while many moderate Hutus were also murdered for opposing the violence. This should not be happening in 2026. South Africa is a diverse nation built by people from different ethnic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds. Allowing tribalism to grow unchecked threatens social cohesion, national unity, and the country’s future. What makes the situation even more troubling is the concern that external actors may be exploiting and inflaming existing tensions, something the state is fully aware of and must address decisively before greater harm is done.

For those pushing this narrative that there was also a genocide against Hutus. Tell us: how were they identified, hunted, and killed because they were Hutu? Who organized it? Who carried it out and why? Where are the mass graves? The lists of names? The evidence of coordination? The media, the messages, the calls to action? The records, the footage, the testimonies? The European Parliament - European Parliament adopted an emergency resolution calling for the release of Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza Ingabire, while highlighting Kagame’s regime sham trials, political killings, and disappearances. British Columbians, If a government feels it can only move forward by censoring its own citizens, we have a huge problem. I believe we have a huge problem here in Canada, and it is showing up clearly in British Columbia. When governments shut down opposition through legislation instead of engaging in open debate, that is coercion. It replaces principled, accountable negotiations with force. Progress on complex issues should come through economic partnerships and respectful dialogue that benefits all British Columbians, not by silencing those who disagree. As Leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia, I will take this issue directly to the people. We will fight it with clarity and focus. I was born and raised here, and I have raised my own family in this province. I will not stand by while governments treat citizens as obstacles rather than partners. We can do better. We must do better.
