While watching Porridge last night, which I would happily watch on a loop for all time and adore almost as much as my family, I realised that I very rarely post clips of it. And so here we are. This is from an episode from the second series called... show more

It’s fine art. I loved Fletcher intensely as a kid and I love him more now. I hope Ronny Barker knew he was the best of us. When was the last time you heard someone say‘umpteenth’?

Classic!! “Couldn’t get the coffin lid down for 3 days!” 🤣🤣🤣

A fantastic show with some of the best comedy lines ever. We simply do not have writers and comics like that nowadays, it’s all woke rubbish!

I remember a classic line from Porridge. "I read a book once. It was green."

Watched this too..... Fletch 'get us The Sun if you get a chance Lenny....& better get me something to read as well' ! I will never look at Leeds United the same way either!

What ? You want me to watch that first thing on a Saturday morning? What, with these feet?

Thanks for this James, I love Fletch! Ronnie Barker was a brilliant man ❤️

I like that fact that Barker was generous with others getting laughs. Jason's Blanco - who is in 3 of the 21 eps. - gets a brilliant final line in one episode which, like many episodes of Porridge, just turns the whole show on its head. Credit to writers Clement and La Frenais.

Porridge is a real contender for greatest British sitcom of all time. Plus did anybody actually say “Naff off” before Porridge was on telly? As for Ronnie and David they truly were “The Governors”.
