In the general scheme of things, 1970 was not that long ago in my mind. And people wearing blackface continued long after that - I remember being shocked that the B&W Minstrels were still on TV in the 70s. And conservatives don't think the Voice is important...🤬

And? Were they doing it disrespectfully? Was 'blackface' ever used in theatre like it was done in America to denigrate black people? Stop trying to bring this USA garbage into Australia. Dressing up as someone you admire is paying homage to them not disrespecting them.

Is there a longer version, how did they portray the actual interaction between colonists and First Nation people. Film stops just as they about to meet. I assume they would of presented a fake happy shake hands, furthest from the truth. 1970, not long ago at all. Need vote Yes.

There's a one-and-a-half second clip of the "Aboriginals" standing near the men dressed as sailors. One of them is seen drinking from a small wooden barrel, which a sailor then takes away from him. That's all.
