Priority is always run first, defenders take read steps when the ball is snapped no matter where they are on the field unless it’s an obvious passing down. They’re banjoing the 3 receiver side there where he has first vertical and you can see 53 trigger to the flat.

Like I said Whitner wasn't better than Tim McDonald especially against the pass. Numbers dont tell everything but Jayir Brown is right on pace to have a better career and already out performed him on the biggest stage and thats the Super Bowl
