The fact that Journey had to hire someone that sounds just like Steve Perry admits that Steve Perry was right. Van Halen had the same fight with David Lee Roth, but successfully shifted to Sammy which proved Dave was wrong.

No shade to the replacement. But mimicking another person… it’s difficult to ever be considered “better”. Perry was singing. Other gent is doing “extremely high level live band karaoke”.

What good fortune for a rock band to have not 1 but 2 legendary lead singers. Arnel is the pride of Filipino people everywhere AND talented beyond belief. Steve Perry is awesome AND was with me in the 80s. I’ll listen to both with the same appreciation.
