CNN's SE Cupp says the #WHCD cannot continue b/c of the ongoing "violence against journalists" and "politicians"... "Can I just say something? While I appreciate the courage and stoicism from my colleagues here and Weijia Jiang at -- at the -- at the dais to continue this night, what we just watched is so upsetting. I'm in studio, and I'm shaking watching this, and I can't imagine what Erika Kirk is going through again. And I think it's important to remember that the people in that room, we know so many of them. They're also human. And I imagine that while they want to show up for press freedom, and we don't know what the motive of this shooter was, I imagine some of them are also really scared and traumatized. And I think viewers who are watching some of this footage will be scared and traumatized by it. It's really upsetting. And I feel so exhausted by how much violence we have to cover violence against journalists, violence against politicians. I just can't imagine continuing on with this night. I understand the importance of standing up there and standing against these threats of violence. But this is very real, and we are human. Journalists are human, too. And I would really understand if, for security reasons and also just compassion, human -- human reasons, this night didn't continue as planned."

A lot of people ask about my journey of change in politics. On many things, I'm right where I've always been. But on others, you bet I've changed. I grew as I served. I saw old ideologies fail to solve problems or defend basic rights. So yes, I changed, and I'm proud of it. Truth is I'd be embarrassed if I hadn't. I don't think the problem in politics is people who change. I think the problem too often is those who won't. Take a listen.

I mean, are you guys gonna cave at the last minute and say, 'Well, if we do have a flying saucer in a cave, it should not be revealed to the public for national security reasons.' (If what we're dealing with are extraterrestrials from another planet, I agree that the masses could say, "No shit! Not a surprise!' But what if it's something that doesn't have a physical body? As George Knapp has asked : What if they can see us but we can't see them, and they can watch us when we're in the bathroom or taking a shower? How would people handle that? Or, if they're time travelers from our future, back here to save us from some sort of cataclysm? Would that cause panic? Or, even if they were "just" extraterrestrials. Would people be able to handle Reptilians who might find human meat a delicacy, or Mantid beings who look like giant bugs? As Christopher K. Would any government have a right to withhold that information from the people? I say, hell no.) Rounds: "I really don't believe that that is necessarily what's happened here. But, we do know - and this is the part that is so sensitive to us - there are some things that we can't explain out there." (Seems like we're back to square one. Holy shit.) Rounds "And that's the reason why I really got involved in this in the first place, is, if we know that there are technologies there that appear to do things that physically, we're just not sure how it's getting done. Biggest concern I had was, is it ours? Or does it belong to somebody else on this earth, one of our adversaries? Or is it really something that is out of this world? But in any of those events, two of the three would be very serious if we disclosed it to the American public because it would mean national defense issues are being broached. And that would be, it would be one of our adversaries' capabilities, or one of our own capabilities." (In other words, it may appear to be a technology from a non-human intelligence but we have to make triple sure it's not from an adversary or our own tech!!! There's always that chance! OMG! Rounds: "But it can't. It can't. We haven't seen that yet. It's not something that any of us have been able to, that I've been able to identify. I'm not aware of any of it.
