I am who I am: my 21st place finish has me roiling in my own skin! Need to get it out of my system! W/out this run, would not have been able to fall asleep until 6 AM, would have been choppy sleep, and short sleep, maybe 4 hours. So, we put in the work and we make the run. Why? To ensure we play great poker soon. We go for a run at 2:30 AM so that we can sleep well, so that we can recharge our adrenaline: and thus, so that we can play great poker in a few days. Normally you'd wait until the Dottinger Hohe or the GP to overtake but they were really strong on both. This meant I had to create an opening somewhere else. Wipperman is one of the few places you can realistically pass on the Nordschliefe so I tried to engineer a switchback and it came off!

Do you know The Simpsons animation? Konami made an arcade game using the Simpsons IP, and it was a lot of fun. I naturally expected it to be ported to home consoles and waited for it, but in the end, it never came out on any console. Interestingly, though, it was ported to PC. It had a few shortcomings, but I have great memories of playing it on a 386 computer and having a really good time. Anyone else play it?

I discovered a crazy Dukes Of Hazzard museum in the middle of the mountains in Virginia and it is a FREE activity less than 2 hours from DC. It is called "Cooter's Place" and it is run by one of the old cast members of the show. It has the famous car from the show, and some other vehicles and a lot of old merch. They also have a cafe with smash burgers and live music on weekends. It is pretty small, so unless you are the biggest fan ever, not worth going for alone. But It's right down the street from Luray Caverns, so you can do both. You can even do some of Skyline Drive on the trip if you want.

A message to anybody who suffers from anxiety, depression or addiction or who knows anybody who does... Any time I am in a dark place I can end up doomscrolling on my phone looking for any sort of inspiration to get better. I’m very lucky to be feeling good at the moment so I thought I’d just walk into the sun and make a little video of hope that might just be seen by one person who needs it. 😞 I do much better now but even 3 weeks ago I had a really bad 4-5 day spell. The dark mist returned. This is a constant battle for us all. 🏃‍♂️ I’ve been back running and eating healthy and doing all the things to make myself healthy and it’s amazing how quick it makes a difference. It’s also amazing how quick you can slip with as habits. I always found Mondays tough. It’s a day when the world moves on and everybody can be seen going about their business. I would often be anxious popping a pill to get through the day or sipping on wine in the evening. If people only knew how many people sitting or working beside them on any given day are in agony and dreading the world. The one thing I wanted to get across is things do change. The sun does shine again. You can beat this. It is possible and ok to feel “normal”. Dont beat yourself up if you can’t beat it immediately or if it never seems to be ending. It took me about 43 years to get a grip of it and as I said I still struggle. It’s totally fine to admit that. Whoever you are in the world I hope you have as good a Monday as is possible. You are not alone. ❤️🙏
