Disturbed. All the ones after Disturbed are trying to do Disturbed. It's like Johnny Cash's "Hurt." It might not be the original but it's definitely "his" song.

Um, That song did not come out in 81, (couple decades earlier 😉) however, I would hope every artist who sang that song did it in honor of the original artists and that be Simon & Garfunkel. They all did awesome. I prefer the original, myself. 👊🥰🌺

The Disturbed version was awful. I'm not sure why that was even a thing. The Kristoffer Sorensen version was just a cover of the Disturbed version. Everyone else didn't really change anything. Either way, Original is best.

That's a close call. The song has such deep emotion. I think it's gotta be Disturbed. It's been a great song since the original came out (not in the 80s) but I think Disturbed gave it that deep grit and the desperate emotion the words convey.

Writing the song is the true talent. No one gets to sing it without S&G writing it.

No one will beat the original, however Disturbed to me is #1 as it’s not just an amazing rendition but contemporary.
