In hand to hand combat, without a gun, a defender should immediately isolate the knife hand. Let him hit you with the other hand if necessary, but lock up the knife hand. Grab his wrist, push his arm down and into his body or against a wall, and then use your body weight to push him off balance. Keep doing this until you can get him on the ground or against a wall. If you’re good enough, get him in an arm bar. No mater what, hang on to the knife hand and do not let go. Pin that hand to the ground or against a wall until he tries to switch hands. Thats when you take it from him or get him to drop it. If he drops it, then go straight for his eyes and gouge one out with your thumb.
