Whose fault was it?

I guess he skipped the class where you learn that the people on the highway have the right of way, not the people moseying on the on-ramp. Either hit the gas and haul ass or hit the break and wait.

The black pickup is at fault in every state in the nation. He should have yielded to the oncoming traffic. It dumbfounds me how many people believe that the oncoming traffic is supposed to slow down to let merging traffic enter.

The black truck doesn’t have the right of the way. Highway traffic doesn’t have to slow down for people getting on. Black pick up is at fault 100%

Black truck did not have right of way. You don’t merge into the main traffic and hit a car.

Regardless of whose fault it was the truck could have easily slowed down slightly but instead deliberately caused a crash to prove a point.

Definitely a combination of white priledge and climate change.

The number of people who think a yielding vehicle has the right of way in these comments is wild. Stay away from me on the road. lol

I’m pretty sure traffic on the freeway has the right of way… someone merging onto the freeway, from either side, is required to match the flow of traffic to complete their maneuver safely. That being said, it seems like the driver of this semi could have slowed down faster to avoid the collision… I’m not a truck driver, though, purely speculating.

Ultimately, it's the semi, as you can see he did nothing to slow his truck at all in a obvious oncoming collision. Appears he may have been distracted. In reality though billy badass over there shouldn't have gambled with outrunning a semi truck if he wasn't planning on laying on the gas. If his truck can't do it he should have backed off.
