Why am I not surprised that Mayor Brandon Johnson didn’t answer the question? He rambled on about racism & slavery & socialist programs that don’t work but refused to answer the question. Mayor Johnson, why is it that 1 out 4 students in Chicago cannot read or do math proficiently?

@ChicagosMayor no no no - only 1/4 can read at their grade level and only 1/5 can do math at their grade level. You were giving him waaaay too much credit.

@ChicagosMayor Idk what the numbers were when I was going to CPS but looking back I feel like it was at least 2/3 of the students could read & do math at grade level. What changed?

@ChicagosMayor More black students fail at their local, poor-quality schools without options, while teachers retire early on generous pensions rare in the private sector. He's not "investing" anything. Brandon repeatedly says the word but doesn't understand its meaning.

@ChicagosMayor what do you expect from a low IQ commie stooge selected by his fascist oligarch Pritzker?

@ChicagosMayor You can’t expect much from a low IQ commie stooge selected by another nasty low IQ oligarch Pritzker.

@ChicagosMayor Johnson is such a stupid moron. So instead of helping kids who are academically behind to catch up, he’s dragging all other kids down so the struggling kids don’t look so bad?

@ChicagosMayor Chicago teachers get paid amongst the highest in the country and have near the least successful results in the country.

@ChicagosMayor He went to school in Elgin I thought? The "resources" were CUT already..years ago..by Dems. Who opted to pull from student funding to accommodate administrative funding. The Cuts are now to cronies in offices to return resources back to the learners.

@ChicagosMayor He answered the question. You just aren’t educated enough to understand what he is saying.

@ChicagosMayor Why doesn't he invest in them then? He will not be able to budget and the state will actually have to be responsible. SC is ready on the other hand!
