He also told newfoundlanders they were Canadians in ww2. They were not. Nfld was a dominant ion under britan. Referendum in 1948. Joined Canada March 31st 1949. Very insulting he didn't even know this and just made up some ww2 story with it. My grandfather was a high ranked war ship captain in ww2. They were directly under the Queen. Not Canada.
