When I tell people everything in their home is still on, listening to them, like their TV, they tell me they don't care because don't do anything wrong 🙄 so frustrating

And now we see how LG has quantified their decision to leave all verbal recording features ON, full time, in your home, even when it's in "standby"... Come quickly Lord Jesus...

My TV is off and I have a dim red light on the bottom that never goes dark. This reminds me of what Snowden put out about 12-15y ago. He blew the whistle on smart TVs and other devices that constantly spy on you. I won't buy a brand new vehicle for this reason. My 2017 diesel pickup is still in very good condition and I'm going to drive that thing until the wheels fall off. The new cars are way too invasive and confess passed the law mandating remote kill switches in all new vehicles..my conspiracy theory is that they need all these data centers, not for AI cat videos, but for mass surveillance. Flock camera data has to go somewhere. We have more data centers in the US than China does. So, their bs lie of we can't let China beat us is for the gullible rubes. I'm not a paranoid person and it's really concerning the amount of control people will accept in the name of "safety" and the govt knows the us has become a nanny state who wants "safety" at any price..for the greater good of course.

Is this what “standing charges” really means on our utility bills?

Yeah you gotta plug your computers/tvs all into a surge protector and just flip it off when you’re finished, you can’t operate things remotely or get updates or anything but it’s also not running 24/7

Just like any virtual assistant has to keep an ear out to catch its activation word. This reminds me of how, in "1984", Winston would creep into a corner of his own living quarters, so the Party's mandatory communication/spying devices couldn't catch him writing down thoughts.

Always unplug your devices. Get a UP phone with a battery disconnect switch and removable memory.

They could've kept the old symbol if they opted to have remotes shoot nerf darts instead of infrared signals. Then have the user shoot at a power button that disconnects the circuit. Problem solved. 😀
