Why do men come home from work and sit so quietly?

Decompressing…. Big mistake most women make is as soon as they come in the door they bombarded them again. Give him a little time to clear his mind.

This is why I decompress for a while in the car after parking in the driveway. Listen to the last pieces of the coda. I don't bring the stress and pressure of my everyday life to those I care about.

It's called decompression where a person just feels like sitting with their thoughts for a moment in undisturbed silence. So if your BF or husband do this don't take it as being uninterested or upset especially if they aren't in a job they actually enjoy

The problem was, my husband's need for decompression lengthened to all the evening hours.

I call my wife as we leave our jobs about the same time and we talk about our days, all the good & all bad. It helps to get everything into perspective and when we get home the work day is over and home life begins for the rest of the afternoon/evening.

Heck I do this after work every day.

I’d get off work exhausted, sit in the parking lot @ 1-2 am looking at my sky guide app Soon I’d be out of the car pointing my phone at different sky points looking up planets stars nebulas & the really cool info button… just absorbing info.. ok I’m relaxed… time to go home

Not just men, Women too. Seriously, my wife comes home with the same quietness after a couple of days of looking after our grand kids.

take all the time you need, men. You do ENOUGH all day and DESERVE your down time.

And what women dont need that as well! No we work all day then come home to cook dinner, deal with the kids, do the washing and so on. By the time we get to decompress or relax its bed time then 99% of the time the other half wants attention! I dont have any sympathy sorry.

Nope. She said “you don’t get space with me”. Alcohol was my only escape. Couldn’t even hide in my own home. Didn’t make sense to leave for a while either, just gave her more time to develop irrelevant arguments.. 😂 what a time of testing that was.. whewy. What is it with people’s inability to have a calm, rational discussion with me? 😭

True, my wife and I's relationship is ruined and still recovering because I would tell her I need this time and she took it as "I wasn't into her" and "not commited" which spiraled more problems. She cares so I endure but it is troubling and taxing at times.
