To keep you in the store longer looking for the stuff you need to get the "ooh I could use this" effect to but more shit

Ypu basically got it. After a bit, you memorize the locations, and ar ein and out in 60 seconds. Theu move it to keep you there for longer, and possibly buy more things. same reason why milk is in the back. You always buy milk, so they make you look at everything else first

Marketing research from 90s shows rearranging things from time to time can introduce customers to new things they didnt know was in the buisness but to correct your statement walmart rearranges it a bit excessive being they sonetimes will rearrange a secton 1ce a week

Come to europe. We have quite consistent shelves packed with the daily stuff. It rarely gets realigned and stays mostly in its designated place. Walmart failed in europe, because people over here do not like the concept of this overgrown supermarkets

i used to work in kroger in stocking. its to keep you in the store for longer. seeing more product. they want you to take longer to find what you want so you see stuff you didnt know you wanted.
