The 3rd and 4th to last are probably referring to Fallout, but Ghouls are not the same as zombies. Ghouls are still fully sentient (unless they’ve gone feral) people whose bodies have rotted due to radiation exposure, and “shambler” is a slur used for them.

Idk if the zeds thing is a reference to killing floor buuuut technically zeds just aren’t zombies at all and more bioengineered killing machines (assuming that was a killing floor reference) it gets more obvious when you see a gorefast or a fleshpound (different kinds of zeds)

I mean, clearly when we know they're zombies then this would happen anyways, like how we got soda, pop, tonic, and coke, it'd just be colloquialisms or other languages words. The way this is actually used is to pretend zombies were never a concept in universe before then

Because using another word gives whatever world using said word a unique identity and distinction of their version of zombies vs other zombie media.
