This isn’t the reason 😆 It’s because legs are dead weight It’s so the starship can carry more useful payload to orbit Its the difference between carrying your shopping up 5 flights of stairs and having to carry your kids whilst doing it

If it is because of lack of air…… how do rocket engines work in space with NO AIR??

It’s also because they want rapid re-usability. The arms can catch the booster and place it directly back on the launch pad, re-fuel, then launch again hours later. They’ll likely do this with the upper stage too, even though it proved it can land. Removing the landing legs also reduces weight. So that one crazy decision to catch the booster solves at least 3 giant problems. Truly incredible engineering

Did anyone actually learn something from watching this? Is it even accurate?

what exactly does he mean by "the engines get less efficient until they shut down" and what do landing legs have to do with that what am i missing

He lost me when he called starship falcon heavy. Falcon heavy’s side boosters already land. Starship is the one that hasn’t yet had a solution to landing or catching currently. They caught the booster for starship super heavy. Weight savings is the reason for the catch.
