North Pole too huh? We must be on a cylindrical earth then?

Parameter? You don’t even have the vocabulary to formulate a conspiracy theory.

worked fine for me, just did it np, says 13k miles. That being said, maybe they fixed it after you pointed it out.

It's because of how Google Earth is rendered. No conspiracy. And if you want to go to Antarctica or the northern part of Greenland, nobody will be there to stop you. Good luck 😂

Well i tried it, its they google made the map. Theres a center line running down the middle that interferes with it

Stop saying it's disallowed to go to Antarctica and the north pole, it's not. It's expensive but there are trips to Antarctica and to the north pole, and yes they do take you to the places for real.

It’s perimeter not parameter 😂

Hey @holisticnut33 hey software engineer. The reason is that the math at the North Pole and south in simulations breaks down. It’s a bug I’d hope they fixed it. There is a way to fix it but it has to do with how those points position are calculated. Poor design ask @grok

If you thought for a moment about the math problem of calculating that line sequence around the only 2 points on the globe of effectively zero Latitude, rather than how to grift the uneducated ...

I think flat earth believers don't actually exist. This is a conspiracy to make all of us feel smarter.

But... if the earth is flat, which I am guessing you are saying with this "entertainment purposes only" video, why would you only need to go to the North and South poles to prove it? Shouldn't the "wall" be accessible all over the world by boat? Genuinely curious for the answer.

Is this guy really dumb this is a software issue what has this got to do with reality. How do you attribute software issues with what’s on ground

The South Pole is a single point, not a line spanning the bottom of a flat map. Drawing a bounding box or simple 2D polygon on a projected map (like Mercator) treats polar coordinates incorrectly, creating erratic geometric shapes when translated back onto a globe.

Parameter? You mean perimeter

It's not difficult to understand that the measuring algorithm will use the various coordinates to calculate lengths/areas. But if you co through one of the poles, the coordinates become inverted on either side and don't make sense to the algorithm.

I wouldn’t expect you to know the difference between parameter and perimeter, and it turns out you don’t.

Map is a two dimensional grid. x,y coordinates only. The math isn’t there to account for the pole.

Why are you saying perimeter like parameter. Also you can go to Antarctica if you want.

Yes, people are legally allowed to visit, explore, and investigate Antarctica, but it is strictly regulated. Investigating and Doing ScienceScientific priority: The Antarctic Treaty sets aside the continent primarily for peaceful purposes and scientific research. Citizen science: Regular travelers on select commercial expeditions can join onboard Citizen Science Programs to help researchers collect data on wildlife, weather, and glacial melt. Independent research: Independent researchers or private explorers must submit an Environmental Impact Assessment and obtain a formal permit directly through a government agency of a country that signed the treaty.
