“Rangla Punjab” ❌ “Import everything from outside Punjab” ✔️ It’s sad that with Punjab’s own money, instead of creating jobs for Punjab’s own people, the Bhagwant Mann–led AAP Punjab govt keeps handing over tenders and work orders to companies from Delhi, UP and elsewhere. For the 350th Shaheedi Smagams at Sri Anandpur Sahib, were there no trucks, no drivers, no service providers available in Punjab? Or was importing everything from outside simply more “beneficial” for them? If these farzi Aam Aadmi leaders stopped chasing cuts and commissions, they could actually ensure that #Punjab’s money reaches #Punjabis, not outsiders.

Punjab has once again been sidelined by the AAP Sanjay Gupta, an outsider to Punjab, has been appointed Chairman of the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission for the next five years, on the recommendation of a senior AAP leader. To accommodate this appointment, 26 other eligible candidates were overlooked and even the requirement of a “working knowledge of Punjabi” was removed from the eligibility criteria. AAP first handed Punjab’s Rajya Sabha seats to outsiders despite strong opposition from Punjabis. Now, another key institution has been placed in the hands of a non-Punjabi appointee. I strongly oppose this anti-Punjab decision and demand that the government immediately withdraw this order and protect Punjab’s rights and representation.

Today in Parliament, I raised Punjab’s most urgent crisis: rapidly vanishing groundwater and dangerously rising water contamination. Invoking the sacred words of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji - “Pavan Guru, Paani Pita…” I voiced the concerns of 3 crore Punjabis as our rivers shrink, our aquifers plunge and uranium-heavy metals seep into the water our people depend on. Punjab, the food bowl of India, once nourished the entire nation through the Green Revolution, lifting India out of starvation and famine. But today, we are left to bear its heaviest burden. This is no longer Punjab’s crisis alone. The nation must stand together with Punjab, in this hour of crisis.
