its why God gave us a authoritative church and magisterium. A Church thats the pillar & foundation of truth (1 Tim 3:15), could not fall (Matt16:18) & its teaching guided & gaurded by the Holy Spirit. Dr. Brant Pitre - the Jewish Roots of the Papacy

Because the Bible is not open to interpretation. "Interpreting the Bible" is the reason we have a thousand different denominations. The meaning of the Scriptures must be revealed by God or we do not rightly understand it, regardless of how educated a person is.

I've heard this before, but I'm not sure that I fully agree. All of the Bible was written to other people (ancient Israel, early churches, etc). No one writing any part of scripture was thinking of people thousands of years in the future in a country that didn't even exist yet.

Jer 29:11 expresses a general principle of God's love and care for all believers.

I disagree somewhat. I see people using even short sections of one sentence and applying it globally. That’s not right. But what would be the point of God telling stories about rescue if it wasn’t possible for all people reading it a long way off in the future? Bible stories are in context, but they are also for revealing the promises and the Kingdom of God, are they not?

well all that eas written was written as example for us. And God is the same Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. Promise made to His People then IS THE SAME TODAY. Its not about etnic group for only Judeans were called Jews- lets not take this out of content too. So if you dealeith captivity of some kind, even of your own sin as them then, TRUST HIS WORDS are for you too- why else would He bother to let His words be written and kept for us?

Our youth group studies focused on what do we actually do with the Bible. Myself, and a few other teachers focused on multiple different study methods, as well as 12 truths us believers must know to be true. It was incredible!

I believe God speaks to each of us individually, doesn’t He? Even though that verse wasn’t spoken directly to us as 21st-century people, are you saying God cannot speak to someone through it today?

Frank, why don’t more churches teach the truth of history from the Bible that the Earth is young, there was no curse of sin in creation prior to mankind’s rebellion, and the global flood? 🤔

Coming out of Bible college, I used to say the same thing about the same verse... but I think I was missing the obvious. The verse reveals the benevolent heart of God towards His people. We can learn from and be inspired by this understanding. Same with Jer. 44:11.

Uh, you don't know that Romans 9 is about salvation. Maybe don't comment on interpreting the Bible until you get that straightened out.

THE HARVEST IS 🐟🍞 THE LABORERS ARE YOU  Those who read the  scriptures must not only themselves understand them, but must also as lovers of learning be able through the spoken and written word to  help the outsiders. - Sirach  Matthew 9:37-38 The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers. And He did. Specifically, Jesus trained them to become qualified laborers in - Matthew 13:19 When anyone hears the Word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away the Seed sown in the heart; this is, what was Sown on the Path.  - where He described the Words of the kingdom as seeds, sown on a path that was the heart. He then said that sown among these seeds were destructive Weeds, sown by an enemy in the dark of night - Matthew 13:24-25 24 The kingdom of heaven may be compared to someone who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while everybody was asleep, an enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat. - which were to be separated and destroyed - Matthew 13:29-30 29 in gathering the weeds you would uproot the wheat along with them. 30 Let both of them grow together until the harvest; and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Collect the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.'" - by Trained Scribes (Laborers) Qualified to separate (2 Ttim 2:15) the wheat of the kingdom seeds - Matthew 13:47-50 47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and caught fish of every kind; 48 When it was full, they drew it ashore, sat down, and put the good into baskets but threw out the bad. 49 So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous. 50 And throw them into the furnace of fire, where there will be 😭 and 😬. 51 "Have you understood all this?” The Apostles answered, “Yes.” 52 And He said to them, THEREFORE every Scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the master of a household who brings out of his treasure what is New and what is Old.  - from the weeds. Like fishermen sorting the good fish from the bad, Jesus trained them to catch fish, from a "Dead Sea" (Eze 47:8-10). The good 🐟 placed in the baskets in vs 48 that represented good scripture separated from bad, are what the Fish in the Baskets that fed the 5000 represent. Likewise the 🍞, symbolized the wheat.  To solidify your understanding of this teaching, See additioonal details below. MATTHEW 13 DEFINITIONS: Mt 13:38 CHILDREN: Seeds (Kingdom / Evil) Mt 13.19 SEEDS: Words  (Of Wheat or Weeds) 13.37;39 SEED SOWERS: Son of Man / Devil Mt 13:38 SEED PARENTS: Scripture (Wheat or Weeds) Mt 13.38 FIELD: World Mt 13.18-23 PEOPLE: Soil FIRTHER DISCUSSION In Mt 13 Jesus never defined the Evil and Righteous as People. Jesus defined People as Soil, not Wheat or Weeds. Weeping and gnashing are the reactions of people who used those scriptures, to the destruction (annulment) of them.  Jesus explicitly defined words as seeds and seeds as children, of either the "kingdom" or the "evil one". The fire destroys the weeds separated from the wheat. Just as the parent of a weed seed is a weed, the parent of a spoken word is a written one, specifically called the "Evil One" (Mt 13.38), that contradicts and snatches away the good word (seed) of the Kingdom (Mt 13.18), sown into believers from the good scripture. The fishing net is the third component of the same parable, which used the common denominator of gathering and separating a given element into two categories. The first two elements were separated into categories of good or bad. The third, into categories of New and Old. Old Testament vs New which didn't exist at that time. The Wheat was the Old, the Weeds were the New.  For M🪙re, See 📫osts in Page ☝️  May the Spirit of the One Truth be Within us ALL 🙏

Was Jesus taking the Word out of context in Luke 4:16-21? The Word of God is neither a story book nor a text book.

Those who claim to speak for God still can’t manage to get things straight amongst themselves. The only unifying theme to emerge is that the Bible was invented entirely by ancient humans. If that were indeed the case, how would Christianity be any different than it is now?
