Why don’t we build houses like this.

Building houses out of uninsulated corrugated metal boxes is stupid

Ceiling is really low, each module is less than 8 feet wide, the desert is really the best place for it, since there is no humidity to make it rust and force you to keep painting and repairing all the time. Also, I'm almost sure it costs less because there is a surplus of old containers, but if people start buying a lot, prices will skyrocket - it happened here in Brazil.

Because I don't want to work all my life to live in containers. There's nothing impressive or interesting here. Spent most of my career working out of container offices in shipyards (we also built many container offices). I'll take my brick & mortar home over this crap any day.

Because it’s like living in a two-story, double-wide trailer park.

My napkin math: 18 - 40' shipping containers @ $3,500 /ea = $63,000 (assuming transporting them was free...which it never is) Hydraulic crane @ $600/hr x 8 hours = $4,800 6 Man steel fabricator crew @ $2K/day x 2days = $4,000 40' x 16' Gabled roofs & arches framing & sheathing @ $8K ea. x 4 = $32,000 Additional wood framing to fur out for smooth interior walls and ceilings - $15,000 Approximate total - $118,863.00 for 3,200 sq ft living space. Traditional stick built framing @ $30/sq ft X 3,200 sq ft = $96,000.... I'm sure there are way more things that I haven't factored like: how much extra plumbers and electricians will charge for the "custom design" they'll need to do at this place, insulation, HVAC ducting etc. Cost difference minimum - $22,863 more for the privilege of having to live in a compartmentalized, rusty, old tuna can assembly.

Your walls giving you 2nd degree burns in summer time is a pretty good reason.

Because dimensional lumber is undefeated for flexibility, efficiency and effectiveness. It’s absolutely a modern marvel. Good luck installing the expensive parts (plumbing, electrical, hvac) throughout that monstrosity.

I do 🤷♂️ Steel trusses though Closed cell foam insulation Extremely strong

What an absurd idea. Just frame the house at that point.

This is 250k in containers and materials. Still more expensive than a real stick built house. 40 foot containers are 5500 each currently.

Show me the finished floor plan and I'll give you my opinion. Otherwise it looks like you're asking people to live in 10 x 10 tubes. If the containers have been significantly modified to be more open on the interior to make larger spaces then you may as well have used conventional materials. There are better ways to recycle containers. How about housing the homeless? How about storage facilities? Just my 2 cents.

Because AI cant build nothin'.

Because it's all AI generated nonsense.

There is a lot more work to this than meets the eye. Plumbing/ sewer, A/C, heat. Not simple to install in this type of home.

This is AI BS..... During the pour there are multiple 4-bar column supports in the corners and in the middle. The front ones disappear after the 1 minute mark. Biobuilding is based in Nigeria according to X.....

Won’t conform to investor guidelines for mortgages. Unless all homes were built this way there wouldn’t be sufficient comparables for appraisals to value properly.
First step should be intensive landscaping for storm water retention....on the perimeter.

ngl the fountain is the only thing that looks real here. everything else is just ai-generated fever dream bait 🫠

It’s not legal to build those out here in Nevada, but you can use them as Storage sheds. Depends on what state you live in.

Because nothing was saved or gained there. Other than material not designed for this function being incorrectly used

Because nobody wants to live in a fucking shipping container

Wer will schon in einer Blechdose mit beschissenem Raumklima und ohne Dämmung leben?

That base is overkill. Containers only need the four corners supported. Plus if you're going to that effort and cladding everything which isn't cheap, just build a standard dwelling

Sg yap! Tutan mı var mak…

... because most skilled workers can tell straight away that it's a load of BS ... 🤷 ...

Definitely my dream home. Nothing less, nothing more.

Because is hot

All you need is water to drink .

Don’t know about the container but the layout with courtyard is very nice.

Because that's massive AI bullshit with no basis in reality?!

Where's the insulation? That's gonna be hotter than hell during the day and cold as a witch's tit at night.

Totally stupid way to build a home. More expensive, less quality, smaller lifespan. That's why... :-)

Idk, why don't you?

1968, 232 unit apartment complex consisting of prefabricated 30’x10’ units for Univ. of Massachusetts students built in Sunderland, MA at the foot of Mt Sugarloaf. Same technique using all wood construction. 60 years ago!. Where have you been for 6 decades!

Where’s the plumbing?
