Many influencers are spreading fake news that you cannot keep over 10 lakh cash at home. Reality is there is no legal limit on how much cash you can keep. The 84% tax + penalty is on black money, not on cash you have kept legally at home. The 10 lakh number is not even relevant here. It is relevant to banks for their internal reporting requirements to IT dept. Just because your account is reported for any of the triggers doesn't mean you will get a notice or an investigation begins.
