This idea that we are somehow lost without a connection to Africa is beyond silly. My parents are older than his country. We have been on this land since before the U.S. existed. We did not immigrate here like Chinese or Italians.

He states this while cosplaying as a Foundational Black American. I, like most FBA, can track my ancestors back to the 1700s with names, locations, and dates, whereas most Africans cannot.

Why are they so desperate for Black Ams specifically to be in love with Africa? We are our own ppl. We also are a mixed ppl. So if it's so important so learn our "roots", why they never push learning our European roots? It's bc Africans wanna center themselves in OUR identity.
