Because Plato, or at least his school, was onto something when he talked about God being the metaphysical absolute of truth, beauty, love, honesty, joy, morality etc.

Source materials I would venture to say, one is based in creation and focused on the beauty of Gods creations. The other has its roots in nothing tangible and based in evil. A clear distinction of life with and without a creator.

Christian art is undoubtedly epic and influential. In my understanding of it, there might not be much good atheist art because, historically, there have not been many atheists.

It's the source. Christian art is guided by the hand of God. The other by the ugly hand of darkness.

Since Genesis, God has been bringing Chaos to order. In Genesis 1:1 it says that “the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep...” Then He spoke and brought light to the darkness and started separating one thing from another bringing chaos to order. This is a distinctive indicator of His power and His presence. “For God is not a God of disorder but of peace —as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.” — 1Cor14:33
