Tim Farron, "The amount money the Conservative government have wasted on the Rwanda plan so far is the equivalent of 5.7 million GP appointments" Tim Farron #BBCQT "The Conservative party are pushing the Rwanda plan because they think it will give them a few points in the opinion polls" "75% of asylum seekers, when they are processed turn out to be genuine asylum seekers.. What would you want to happen to you if this country was an unliveable basketcase -audience claps- and that is your answer" "France takes 3x more asylum seekers than we do. Germany takes 4x as many. 17 European countries take more asylum seekers per head than we do" "How do we deter people coming here? Spend the Rwanda money on 6,000 case workers" "What would be a deterrent? 25% are not genuine asylum seekers. If we had a government that was competent enough to deal with the backlog, and then remove the people who are not asylum seekers, that would be a deterrent" "The Rwanda plan is a waste of time. A waste of your money that could be spent on the NHS" "They're playing politics with the lives of the most desperate people on the planet" "What 0.2% of all asylum seekers will go to Rwanda. Is that really a deterrent?" "Either Rwanda is a safe place, in which case it will not be a deterrent. Or it is an unsafe place and no decent government would ever send anyone there"

Keir Starmer crucifies Rishi Sunak over the Rwanda Scheme at #PMQs Did you know, if it did pass, we would only be able to send 100 asylum seekers to Rwanda? There are 75,492 asylum seekers in the UK. We are paying Rwanda over £150 million to take 100 asylum seekers. And the agreement also means we take up to 100 asylum seekers from Rwanda. So we aren't shifting the problem away, we're moving asylum seekers around like a game, all the while to appease people who want the UK to crackdown on asylum seekers, while keeping the total number of asylum seekers in the UK the same. If you think the Rwanda sceheme is fixing the asylum seeking system or backlog? Think again. The government thinks you're stupid. And if you believe their dog whistling, I suspect you probably are.

We need to be done with “asylum seekers” completely. For the most part these are dysfunctional rejects and misfits, which is why so many of them come to western countries and immediately start killing and raping. Let them seek asylum somewhere else.

“$18K PER DEPORTATION” Secretary Markwayne Mullin: “It costs about $18,225 per person to deport.” “Multiply that by MILLIONS—it’s staggering.” “Why so high? Asylum claims, attorneys, clogged courts.” “That’s the system we’re dealing with.”

This is the moment Altrincham residents found out that Fake Asylum Seekers housed in a nearby hotel are receiving PRIVATE HEALTHCARE while their Local NHS Service is stretched to breaking point. And we the taxpayer are funding all of this. It's amazing we don't revolt.

The asylum seeker crisis is a national problem that needs a national solution. New York City is proud to have welcomed tens of thousands of asylum seekers and given them shelter, food and resources. But we can't do this alone.

Asylum seekers coming to Canada get an average of $82,000 per year in benefits like housing and healthcare. Last year, we had more than 200,000 applicants, which cost taxpayers over $10 billion. The backlog to process applicants is now years instead of months.

ELON: THE AMOUNT OF LAWFARE WE’VE SEEN UNDER THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION IS OUTRAGEOUS “The amount of lawfare that we're seeing taking place [under the Biden administration] is outrageous. There are many examples, but the Department of Justice, for example, launched a huge lawsuit against SpaceX for failing to hire asylum seekers. Not those who were granted asylum, asylum seekers. There's a law called International Traffic and Arms Regulations. [It says that] because SpaceX develops advanced missile technology that can be used in nuclear ICBMs, we have to be very careful with who we hire. We can only hire someone if they're a permanent resident or a citizen. That's what the ITAR law says. Then there's another law that says that you cannot discriminate against asylum seekers. So, we're damned if we do, damned if we don't. The DOJ did a massive lawsuit against SpaceX for failing to hire asylum seekers, even though it is illegal for us to hire asylum seekers under ITAR law. This is an actual thing that's going on. And they can only do a fairly small number of lawsuits every year. So, why did they pick this one? Lawfare.” Source: Interview with Tucker Carlson, October 2024
