There’s a love/hate relationship with Season 1 because I think Season 1 of Rezero perfected the direction and tone of the series, but it cut so much important content. Season 2 cut a very important scene too at the end. Season 3/4 have slightly worse tone/direction but cut less

Wasn't there a scene in season 1 during the royal selection meeting where it's implied Al is from Japan? Subaru mentioned Anastasia having some japanese dialect, and Al didn't even question what Subaru meant, just confirming that everyone in Kararagi speaks like that

Tbf re zero LN and WN have a LOT of content so adapting it is difficult. Lore is important but with limited episodes numbers you have to prioritise stuff relevant to the season only. Especially since it wasn't even planned to have more than 1 season at first
