In 2005, then Petroleum Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar defended ethanol blending in petrol, saying the UPA government aimed for 10% blending and could increase it to 20%, 30%, 40% or even 50% if ethanol availability improved. Today, many of the same Congress leaders are attacking the ethanol blending policy being implemented under Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and the Modi government, despite having advocated the same approach while in power.

India lacks the infrastructure to store and transport ethanol-blended petrol. There is no benefit from ethanol. People are unhappy, and yet the govt is forcing E20 on the country.. why? PM Modi is importing large amounts of ethanol from the USA under Trump's pressure. Hence, E20 is being forced upon the people to create a demand for USA's surplus ethanol.

👉My question to the Transport Minister is regarding ethanol blending. Earlier, the blending level of ethanol was 10%, and recently it was increased to 20%. ❓Has the government conducted any scientific studies or consulted research associations, such as the one in Pune, before increasing the blending percentage? 👉Another concern is that customers are not aware of ethanol blending in petrol, and retail shops are not displaying any details about it. It is reported that many retail shops are blending ethanol more than 20%, which may affect the mechanical side of vehicles. ❓I also have a question for the Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister. Given the current excess ethanol production in the country, are there plans to explore alternative uses for it? : Benny Behanan ji in Lok Sabha

'If Ethanol Costs More Than Petrol...': Tehseen Poonawalla Targets Modi Govt Over E20 Policy Political analyst Tehseen Poonawalla has criticised the Modi government over its ethanol blending policy, citing a written reply by the Union Government in Parliament. He claimed the reply confirms that ethanol costs more per litre than petrol, questioning why costlier ethanol is being blended with petrol if the stated objective is to reduce costs. Poonawalla also alleged that sugarcane farmers receive limited financial benefit, while ethanol distilleries are the primary beneficiaries of the policy. He further questioned the government's claim that ethanol blending helps conserve foreign exchange, alleging that India imports industrial ethanol from the United States despite having domestic production capacity. Describing the policy as an "ethanol scam", he demanded answers on who benefits from the current ethanol blending system. #tehseenpoonawalla #ethanol #petrolprice #modigovernment #fuelprices #parliament #sugarcane Tehseen Poonawalla Official 🇮🇳

Ethanol is not only cheaper but also significantly reduces your car or bike’s mileage. It is believed that it also wrecks engines that are BS-IV and older. Every Indian is being ROBBED through this. While the market cost of ethanol blended petrol is cheaper by a MINIMUM of ₹9/liter, you are being made to pay a full inflated price. I raised this issue in Parliament yesterday. This brazen cheating by Modi Govt not only takes away people’s hard earned money but also contributes to inflation & price rise. If ethanol-blended petrol is being made mandatory, the Modi Govt MUST reduce the price.

This is huge 🔥✅ India’s ethanol blending programme is strengthening farm incomes and energy security. Under Nitin Gadkari, ₹1.21 lakh crore has been paid directly to farmers from sugarcane, maize, and crop residues, including ₹45,000 crore to maize farmers in UP and Bihar. #ethanol #e20fuel #nitingadkari
