Rhodesia "The land of Rhodes"

India, Russia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Croatia 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️

Not africa

South Africa formerly known as Azania 🤔🤔🤔

However the name Ethiopia is even older than any European colonialist country. Sounds an interesting theory, but get all facts correct otherwise credibility is threatened

Who named it Ethiopia? The greeks Nuance is neccessary when digesting these type of issues

That wasn’t colonial

Nuance is necessary to understand context The name is western in origin showing western influence even if themselves were not occupied There is a reason they adopted a western name

Thank God we are not part of this nonsense 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦

But you have many colonial names too all colonised countries carry colonial legal systems etc

I am following you because of this video.

Dankie dankie

No value addition here - lose weight

What an intellectual response

True, initially S.M.K argued northern Rhodesia should be named “zambezia” then together with Kaunda & the brits they settled for “Zambia”

Yes

This is very interesting. Was not aware of this...thanks

Welcome love

I wonder why there has been reluctance in changing the names🤔

I think when somerhing sticks its more complicated to change

Brasilia Australia Lativia Syria Lithuania Italia Macedonia Croatia Russia

Not african the context is African

Africa, word or noun is also not native to Africans with the closest local reference being Egyptian which means 'motherland' but remember, Egyptians were exchanging words with Greeks and Romans long before colonialism. Likely origins are in Latin and Greek inferring 'hot place'

True that the concept of continent did not exist in our culture

Very informative. Thank you so much

Thank you for support

I wish i could lol

False, Zambia was named by The Late Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe, and it means Land of God. However it is true that the name was derived from the Zambezi river which means River of God.

The british were involved in coining the name initially it was supposed to be zambezia

False madam. The name was made by the Unip Party specifically Simon Kapwepwe.

Ethiopia was never colonized, before it was renamed Ethiopia it was called Abyssinia, and if u notice the ia is still there and Abyssinia come from the Ethiopian language Amharic, so ur point is invalid with Ethiopia

Although it was never colonised it was till highly influenced by colonial powers thats why even their legal systems and education are western.

Ok but then we are moving to a different topic, and doesn’t justify the fact u got ur point wrong??

Who named Ethiopia?

A simple google search, pls get ur facts right before u make ur silly videos

Lol who named Ethiopia? A very simple question?

Wow

This information here is more important than that shit nonsense Frontline states.

Really

This is fantastic information

Can you do a research about the meaning of those names that ends with ia from the colonizers perspective.

Azania land of the Azans 😲

So it’s supposed to be Zimbabwia? I will correct this when I become president!!!

Azania 🤔

You left out Rhodesia 😅. At least I now know where that came from. We were the place of Rhodes.🤔
