After a fairly long wait, Kenya's National Assembly has this afternoon approved & adopted the President's reservations on the Conflict of Interest Bill No.12 of 2023. President William Ruto referred the Bill back to the House on May 2nd with a memorandum on areas he felt needed tightening (See quoted tweet for details on issues raised by the President). Here's why this is pretty important. The watering down of the Bill in the National Assembly is to a large extent the reason why there has been a delay in the World Bank disbursing US$750.0M worth of DPO financing in the current financial year. Approval & adoption of the President's recommendations signals a mission by the government to still unlock this funding with only 3 weeks to go to the close of 2024/25. I beg some of these people to take some time in the training area, just 10-20 minutes tops, to learn the basics of the mechanics. That clip just reinforces why devs add a training mode to games like this, why it's in your best interest to at least practice basic mechanics and combos. Yesterday’s increase in Interest rates is not going to do anything to fix the underlying structural imbalances in our economy. It is not going to help build one oil refinery or find a new discovery oil. The reason we have persistent inflation in Australia is because our government is running high immigration, high spending programs alongside chronic underinvestment in infrastructure and manufacturing after decades of privatisation. It is completely absurd that the Australian people are now going to be punished with higher interest rates alongside higher fuel costs. The higher fuel costs is in-itself going to dampen demand by increasing the cost of living so why pour fuel on the fire by increasing the cost of living even more. We are in this mess because of government spending not because Australians are spending too much just to survive. Manipulating interest rates is only dealing with the symptom not the cause. Notwithstanding we can’t solve inflation in the next 30 days, Australia needs to start building more infrastructure and factories and training our children the trades needed to do it. This will increase the supply of essential goods to bring inflation down. People First is the only party with the policies that will do this. We will create an infrastructure bank to fund the infrastructure free from foreign debt and we will bring back the military apprenticeship scheme to train our children how to build and maintain the infrastructure and manufacturing plants. A week-old baby, not breathing. Any parent’s worst nightmare came true for a new Aurora mom last week. She was already on the way to the hospital and happened to see one of our officers stopped at a red light at Colfax and Sable. She quickly ran up to his car pleading for help. It’s second nature for our officers to do just that. Help. He began life-saving measures on the infant, performing CPR for nearly five minutes until Aurora Fire Rescue arrived to escort the baby to the hospital. Let that sink in. Nearly five minutes of CPR. Throughout it all, he remained calm, communicating with the child’s mom in both English and Spanish and assisting as an interpreter once medics took over. Because of his quick response and composure under pressure, that baby is alive today. This is what it means to serve. Knowing what to do in those critical moments can make all the difference. We encourage parents and caregivers to learn infant CPR. Do you know the steps for infant CPR? For a choking infant under 1 year, deliver 5 firm back blows between the shoulder blades using the heel of your hand while supporting them face-down on your forearm, head lower than chest. If the object does not dislodge, follow with 5 chest thrusts. Repeat this cycle until the object is expelled and the baby shows obvious signs of life, or continue until help arrives. Always here, Aurora. And, always willing to help.❤️

As a parent, lap reading is a joy. It’s a chance to cuddle your little one, while exposing them to rich vocabulary, concepts of print, and the wonder of books. When it comes to infants, however, lap reading can deprive babies of their favorite (and most important) sight: YOU. Which is why you might want to explore face-to-face reading as well. (With your baby facing toward you and the book simultaneously.) Developmentally, there are multiple benefits to allowing your baby to see you as you read together. Your little one is an expert at “reading” your face. This posture allows your baby to track your eyes to discover what you’re tuning in to. It also allows them to watch your mouth and learn how you’re making the words and sounds that accompany the pictures.
