Footage of Phil Taylor hitting incredibly rare 240 shot in darts resurfaces ahead of World Championship semis DARTS Phil Taylor is responsible for an incredibly rare 240 score which is no longer possible in darts. Taylor is quite possibly the greatest darts player in history, with a record 16 world titles to his name and an incredible 85 major titles overall. 'The Power' holds a series of impressive records, including the most televised nine-dart finishes with 11 and the first player to produce two nine-darters in the same match. But the 64-year-old also produced an uncommon 240 shot back in 1993, when competing in the UK Matchplay. The tournament took place at the Aquarius Club, Chesterfield and was televised by ITV's Yorkshire television. And in a first in the competition, Taylor threw 240 - the maximum score one could achieve with three darts. 240 was made possible because at the time, games were being played on a 'Quadro' board - which had been brought in by Harrows Darts Technology the previous year. The board featured an an extra ring between the double ring and the outer bull, which meant you could get quadruples as well as trebles. The highest possible checkout was 210 from two quadruple 20 and then the bull - but Taylor went and achieved the maximum score against Jocky Wilson, who went on to reach the final in a losing effort to Dennis Priestley. The announcer screamed "240!" as they do these days when 180s are scored. Taylor's effort is believed to be the second 240 hit captured on camera, with Wilson, Shayne Burgess, Bob Anderson and Peter Evison also later matching the achievement during the event. The board was in play for a few years but according to Patrick Chaplin, darts players were regularly confused by the fact there were so many combinations that were tough to remember. Referees and callers also had great difficulty in having to quickly work out the scores. It was discontinued in 2000 and not seen in a professional capacity for a long time but a 2025 version has been released, giving it a more modern take on the classic. On the non-standard board, an eight-dart finish from 501 is possible.

Fiery comments from CNN's Scott Jennings on today's events in Minneapolis: "What strikes me is, first of all, it's extremely sad and unfortunate that someone died. I mean, the political fighting and disagreements aside, it's terrible. You don't want people to die in law enforcement situations or otherwise." "But it strikes me that we are undergoing an epidemic of political vigilantism right now. Why are people showing up in vehicles, in convoys, not just in Minneapolis, but all over the country in an effort to obstruct lawful federal law enforcement activities? This is not an isolated incident. We have had hundreds of car rammings against ICE agents all over the country. According to DHS, this lady in this car today, along with other vehicles, had been tracking ICE agents around. Why are people believing that they can drive their car into a federal law enforcement situation and that is an appropriate thing to do?" "I understand they don't like the fact that these agents are enforcing existing immigration law, but that's not how we change laws in this country. If you don't like law, you talk to the politicians. You don't drive your car into the middle of a building or a law enforcement situation that's being occupied by the people who are simply there to enforce the law. If I don't like how much the IRS is charging me in taxes, I don't drive my car into the Treasury Department try to run somebody over. I call my congressman." "Political vigilantism is being encouraged by Democratic officials like the lieutenant governor of Minnesota, Peggy Flanagan, who earlier this year told people to 'put your bodies on the line' and Tim Walz calling these guys gestapo all year. What do you think happens when you radicalize a base of people about this?"

Good morning Amb Hon Ababu-Namwamba, EGH🇰🇪 the public is still demanding you publish the delegation to #ParisOlympics2024 & the taxpayers budgetary allocations. As you publish your list of shame, let me take this opportunity to reintroduce myself to you. Clearly you’re listening, as of now some players allowances have been disbursed. We are not going to applaud the fish for swimming & we’re still monitoring the progress as all of a sudden things seem to be moving. Publish the list with all officials and their per diem per day, wasting taxpayers money to travel and sit in expensive hotels. Some never even make it to watch the athletes compete. Then let’s cross check with what players are being paid per day while slaving away in their training camps with limited resources. Amb Hon Ababu-Namwamba, EGH🇰🇪 we know you are a political appointee and sportsmen/women are not your priority. We are here to remind you who you work for, and that is the people of kenya 🇰🇪 with athletes being your employer. Stop with the meaningless PR stunts and get to work, caressing your ego sponsoring hashtags #LetNamwambaWank is diabolical and narcissistic for a person in your position. Get the job done and the results will speak for themselves, otherwise step down and let others do the job. FYI we lost this game 45-5 but we gave one hell of a fight to the very end, that’s the spirit you are up against. We are not going to give up until things are in order.

#whyilovekenya The Marsabit you never see, today allow me to share a rare clip of dense Marsabit Forest home to two crater lakes . Kenya is such a diverse nation , we should count ourselves very lucky. Lake paradise is also where Marsabit Lodge is located ( sadly it has been closed for years). It's about time that this lodge or where the lodge sits found a serious investor. The lodge sits on the rim of the lake. Spot it in the first crater lake on extreme right. All the rooms would face the lake. This can host a safari lodge with meeting rooms while the 2nd lake can host upmarket boutique safari lodge. Kenya Tourism Board KAHC Kenya NゲージのKATO Marsabit forest is also home to Ahmed one of the biggest call him giant Tusker Elephant to have ever lived. The first and only Elephant or animal that was given presidential protection in the 70s. Well the remains of Ahmed is preserved at the Nairobi National Museums. Kenya is serious about conservation. Marabit forest is home to elephants , Leopard, buffaloes, Hyenas and over 280 bird species. Thank you Kenya Wildlife Service. Kenya Wildlife Service CS Rebecca Miano, EGH Silvia Museiya, CBS for all the harwork in preserving this rare gem. A big thanks to local community my people for looking after this forest. Its about time that the local community got a share from carbon credit because this is a huge forest . Hon. Aden Duale, EGH Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Forestry Kenya Forest Service Bee keeping on the periphery is also sustainable. The Hive Group Chris and your team we need you here. My Personal View on Religion and Atheism: I genuinely believe we are living in a simulation of some kind. The chances, in my mind are far more likely than not. I don't believe in any of the various religions, but I think that atheism is just as faith-based as any of the major religions and probably just as likely to be false. If you atheist and attacking religious people, you are a hypocrite. Something likely created us, but it's likely not the "god" that most people envision in religious texts. In fact we could all be our own god in that the universe we live in is centered around us, and everyone else is an NPC. It is also possible that no one is an NPC and we are in a Massive Multi-player simulation, or somewhere in between the two. I'm pretty certain that through rendering (or not), it will eventually be entirely possible to simulate an entire universe and that we will eventually do it if we don't end humanity first. If we can simulate a Universe at some point in the future then we are almost certainly living in a simulated Universe. People ask me why I don't fear death if I'm agnostic and don't believe in any of the major religions. The answer is simple: There are an infinite number of possibilities as to what happens when we die. 'Nothingness' is only 1 of those possibilities, and any intelligent life form would likely make whatever comes next pleasant, as the more intelligent an organism gets the more compassionate they usually get. I like my odds.
