That's the problem. Too many cars on a short circuit. Corkscrew at Anglesey are two combined bends on an event gradient. You only overtake on straights on track days.

That was not the rule on any trackdays I've ever been on (Panonia ring, Slovakia ring, Nurburgring, Spa Francorchamps, etc). EU based, so YMMV I guess.

It depends on the actual day but here's what Silverstone mandates as it's standard to give you an idea.

I've had a Caterham go round the outside of me, onto the dirt/grass at the hairpin at Anglesey... He was kicked out later on. He knew better but chose to be a cock. There's no need for it...usually a BMW or a gung-ho Fiesta ST

Usually at Thruxton there are a few "characters" on track, but last week it was pleasantly well mannered, only one chap in a late type R wasn't using his mirrors (or didn't like an Abarth being a lot quicker than he was expecting)

It's a no overtaking zone and I was stuck in the massive snake of cars. Had to wait until you got to the straight before you could overtake. It was a massive shit show

On these social track days aren’t you told to stay in line and not overtake?

84 cars booked in on the shorter Anglesey Coastal circuit. That bit is a no overtaking zone. Naturally it's going to back up especially with the range of driver levels and cars. Too many on circuit, practically a parade lap.

I noted the Porsche went off onto a slip road, presumably the Pits? Did he deliberately slow and pull over encouraging the BMW to pass? Why did he immediately exit?

I wish it was a parade lap. 84 cars booked in on the coastal circuit. No briefing. Massive range of driver levels. I should have realised when I saw the queue to rent helmets 🤦

Wowsa. about 7 years ago on an rma day at Bedford, my friend had his 997gt3, I went round with him whilst several rust buckets of varying degrees, nothing worth more than £10k was being driven hard including someone in a C63 with an unpainted rear bumper trying to take us out.

I'm surprised though that there were shit buckets at an RMA day. I went to one of there's at Donny and everything was GT spec race cars and supercars. Tim Harvey was out in the Manthey GT3RS. Also RMA run days upwards of 600 quid so numbers are naturally low.

Apologies it was an Msvt day. Last one I did was rma (as you correctly say it was heavy on the gt3 and gt3rs owners ) and fast drivers. As you say, you get what you pay for !

Looks boring as anything, no overtaking or only overtake on the left, car track days are so sanitised compared to bikes, I was completely underwhelmed when I did my first car track day.

Clearly a yellow/red flag or other no-overtake type of situation. Go to the pits, tell the marshals; they'll black-flag the beemer driver and give him a safety lesson, just once. No drama
