For our media, which has as a major purpose to be able to communicate difficult and controversial issues (like we originally did in the early 2000's about China and the CCP) to people who lack good information, this is a HUGE problem. Many of these people, due to Wikipedia's legacy halo of neutrality and fairness, will still believe it to be a neutral arbitrator of reality, and if they believe the mad falsehoods injected into our page, they may steer clear—instead of checking our work out for themselves, being intrigued and subscribing.
