@IanDunt @Dorianlynskey The last thing any all seeing self aware AI is going to do is announce its presence, like it's somehow never registered humanity's deep fear of the other.

@IanDunt @Dorianlynskey There isn’t an AI in existence that is more self aware than the average rock.

@IanDunt @Dorianlynskey The answer is no, and Sam Altman is a massive fraud.

@IanDunt @Dorianlynskey There was an amazing piece on R2 this afternoon with an AI "old woman" supposedly programmed to occupy scammers' time by chatting, the producer talking to it in real time. Clearly a promotion piece but mighty impressive.

@IanDunt @Dorianlynskey I was looking forward to this episode, but it was such a disappointment. "We don't know what sentience is, but AI definitely is not going go get there." Why? Can't human brain be just a "pattern recognition machine"?

@IanDunt @Dorianlynskey Did it feel a bit too close to the bone doing an episode on artificial intelligence lads?
