Serious lapse in Ramanagara. Instead of conducting house-to-house distribution of ECI enumeration forms for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), BLOs are mass-distributing them at a community hall. This completely defeats the purpose of a thorough door-to-door verification. I urge the Election Commission of India to immediately halt the current SIR process in Ramanagara AC and request the Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka (Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka), to directly monitor and rectify this process to ensure transparency. 👇

Is this how the SIR process is supposed to be conducted? In Karnataka, BLOs are not going door-to-door. Instead, the SIR process is being carried out in marriage halls, mosques, and real estate offices and that too, only for Muslims. Chitradurga, Karnataka: BJP state president B. Y. Vijayendra says, "Like the rest of the country, the voter list revision process is also underway in the state. However, the Congress government in the state is trying to undermine the system by putting pressure on officials, misusing them, and conducting the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) exercise in mosques. Blaming the Election Commission to cover up its own mistakes is not justified..."

What is happening in the name of SIR across Bengaluru, Hubballi, and many parts of Karnataka is a complete mockery of the electoral process. Instead of mandatory door to door verification by BLOs, people are being herded together like a public gathering and voter verification is being reduced to a farce. This is not SIR. This is an organised subversion of the very purpose for which SIR exists. The Karnataka Congress government appears more interested in protecting its vote bank than protecting the sanctity of electoral rolls. When individual verification is abandoned and mass exercises are encouraged, suspicions of facilitating illegal or dubious entries become inevitable. Democracy cannot function on political convenience, selective scrutiny, and appeasement. The Election Commission must act without delay, cancel every such compromised SIR exercise conducted across Karnataka, and order a fresh, transparent, and strictly rule based verification process. The people of Karnataka deserve clean voter rolls, not an electoral circus orchestrated for partisan gains.

This is how the SIR process is being carried out in Karnataka. As per the prescribed procedure, BLOs should visit every household, verify the relevant documents, and conduct the SIR process accordingly. However, in the Chief Minister's District, thousands of people are reportedly being gathered in a single hall and the SIR process is being conducted there instead. Among those assembled, there could also be Bangladeshi nationals. The authorities should take appropriate action and ensure the verification process is conducted strictly as per the rules.
