Now, I can confidently use them correctly without ambiguity.

You are welcome 😉

We learn everyday thanks for sharing

Yes oo. You’re welcome

Using ‘can’ to ask for permission can sometimes be considered less polite; ‘may’ is often more formal and respectful. Thanks for the lecture though.

I thought "may" is used for permission? "Can" is like you asking if you are capable of doing it. "May" I drive your car, please? May, I borrow some money from you? "Can" you lend me some money? Can here is you asking if the person is capable of lending you the money. Thanks.

Where to use which is always the problem

I dey tell you. 😂

Can is not used to ask permission. It only shows ability. “May” is the word used for permission used for permission. Also, the words are pronounced /wud/ and /kud/, not /wuld/ and /kuld/.

I will could you😂

😂 na so them teach you?

Thank you teacher Grace ❤️✌️

That’s not me oo. Her name is Gloria Babs 😂

You skipped one for “Would”. WOULD can also be used as some form of “future in the past”. E.g. - “It would have happened differently, if he had taken precaution”… That is, looking at the past and discussing a future event on that basis.

@JajaPhD Thanks for the session, however I once listened to someone who said it is preferable to use the word "May" when asking for permission. For instance "may I borrow your shoes" as against "can I borrow your shoes. Kindly clarify. Thanks.

Thanks

Thank you. The Oversight: Based on the rules of Concord, I expected: "If I GOT $10 million tomorrow, I WOULD build three skyscrapers" "If I GOT $2 billion tomorrow, I WOULD travel around the world"

Beautiful, well said. I teach English too 😊

👏🏾

You and this woman content 😀

I want us to learn

Our teacher😍

She’s fine too

Sounds nice but this will not bring consistency and students fail. First, can, could, will, would are all auxiliary verbs. To know when to use them properly, students 'should' know what singular, plural nouns and verbs are. The formula is; singular noun + plural verb. Vive versa

for nigeria will nor Sabi learn

Some of us thrive to be better

yeah true

Thanks for your videos. I need to send so many people to your page esp those who don’t know the difference between am and I’m.

We will get there and teach them the difference. It’s annoying when I see “ am bola and I love cooking” they forget “Am” comes first if what you are asking ends with a question mark. “ am I supposed to come over there?”. We will educate them about that soon

Nothing is more annoying than that. I’ve seen plenty of PhD students who don’t know the difference. A friend of mine stopped talking to the girl he was in the talking stage with because of it. He said he didn’t want to be rude, but he just couldn’t cope with it anymore.

😂😂😂😭 I feel we should be open to correct them. You know we are all striving towards perfection. I am always happy to explain the difference with people. It’s very simple to understand

It’s better to just upload your videos on WhatsApp than to correct them and have people think you’re being rude.

Okay, would you come over?

If I may…the second and fourth examples of “would” do not seem right to me. “Would” is usually accompanied by a past tense. Example, if I had a million dollars, I would… , if I had the time I would be there… I didn’t listen to the examples of can and could…

COULD ANYBODY WAKE ME AWAKEee..?

🤣🤣🤣
